Wandering the store, I found a discounted ball of pretty purple sport baby yarn. its a bit light, but I think it will work. and at that price......

I ran out of ginseng for the Gaelic Bay, and green for my Steamwave (I'll explain THAT one too...). so lets get started on the Kew Gardens. I just love the names by the way.

Round 16, its looking good.

I'm using Bernat Baby Sport in Grape, Phentex Worsted in Grapevine, and Phentex Sport in...I think its Kelly green.

I really enjoy working with Phentex, its a nice soft comfy cozy yarn.

well...time to go finish a few rounds.

For the Shorty...

Mommy, I want a blanket. Ok, what do you want it to look like? ORANGE! And wavy! With purple too!

Oh my! Here’s my handy Michaels coupon! PERFECT orange! And oh what a neat variegated colour! I’ve got purple that will match.

Then we found the pattern. The Gaelic Bay Afghan by LionBrand.
Its taken a lot of work, many ripped out rows, to get this far. 6, and 6, 6 and 6, up and down, decrease and add....
The pattern calls for 2 rows of each. I am using 2 colour, 1 white, 2 colour. it was too much white when I used 2 rows white.

As I work on it, she snuggles underneath. Come to an end and she moves to the other side. Every now and then I find her wrapped up.

You can feel the love in it already. Its warm and snugly soft. I’m using the Phentex Sport Tangerine for the solid orange, and Bernat Sport ginseng for the variegated. The purple however is many bits and pieces in my stash (I went through a purple phase).

I want this to be a bed size, so she can carry it with her forever.
Strangely enough, working last night I managed to run out of ginseng.

Guess where I’m going today?

When in doubt....hook it yourself.

On my hunt for Christmas presents (one of my favorite things to do)...I found a neat wire holder that has bath stuff, a loofah, and thats about it. Well, those are cute but what can I add to them? I know! Washcloths!
Unfortunately washcloths are square, plain colours - nothing fun or funky. My girls are not Square, and they have tons of personality!

Pretty cotton, rounds and other funky designs! nothing square.
Off I toddled to Michaels, yay a coupon day, picked up a bunch of cotton in the colours my darlin's love.

Pink, turquoise, orange, green...solid colours, variegated, and everything inbetween.
oh boy! there's a freebie pattern card too! yay! I love those!

Here are a couple of my creations, I'm not sure which girl will get which washcloth, I do have some more orange variegated to use up...

I can't wait for Christmas morning! (and the ulterior motive that bath holders bring...a cleared off bathroom counter, a domain for each!)
